February 2026
Dear Houston Parents,
2026 has gotten off to a cold and snowy start! Hopefully your cadets are settling in to the new semester. As we continue into 2026, we wanted to go over what is coming up in terms of your new Board, position chairs, events, volunteer opportunities and links to West Point information.
We also want to thank you for your involvement in our Club and for working together to make it a Club that is of useful service to parents, cadets, and West Point. What is useful service? Perhaps that can be best described in our Club objectives from our bylaws (below). Thank you for participating in all these objectives with warmth and caring for our fellow families. Whatever level of participation you are able to have, we so appreciate you!
Article II – Objectives
The objectives of the organization shall be:
1. To act as a recognized vehicle for the dissemination of information to parents, guardians, and relatives of cadets of The United States Military Academy at West Point, The United States Military Academy Preparatory School and West Point Association of Graduates sponsored Civil Preparatory schools; hereafter referred to as West Point.
2. To provide support and encouragement to cadets and their families.
3. To facilitate recruiting of prospective candidates for West Point from the Greater Houston area.
4. To promote a favorable attitude toward West Point and its goals and purposes in the Houston area and the community at large.
As far as upcoming 2026 events (see attachment), we know many of you are planning for Plebe-parent weekend (class of 2029), ordering rings/pendants (class of 2027), or just trying to figure out anything else. Please don't hesitate to contact us or any of the Class Reps with questions. Even if you are not a member, please feel free to reach out - we are here to serve all our Houston cadets.
And of course no Club email would be complete without letting you know we still need volunteers for:
T3 as it is our biggest annual event. Please email if you can lead a sub-team (these are TBD but we will be looking for perhaps 4 leads for things like merchandise, food, logistics, fundraising etc...) or simply volunteering. We recognize T3 is a big job so we are considering how to ensure the Chair does not have such a heavy burden. If you are interested in leading a portion, we would appreciate hearing from you asap. Knowing there are many hands willing to pitch in would certainly be an encouragement to the Chair. If those of you who volunteered last year have recommendations or advice from your experience we welcome it! If you did not volunteer but have recommendations, we welcome those too.
Warm wishes from your 2026 Board
